Hefei high-tech institutes find more partners

Two high-tech institutes operated by the University of Science and Technology of China and located in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone inked 10 cooperation agreements during a signing ceremony on April 26.
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research Institute of the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center, established by the Anhui provincial government and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, signed cooperation agreements with the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone – the core area of the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center, Anhui University, and Anhui Medical University.
According to the agreement, the zone will fully support the research institute in scientific research, talent cultivation, and AI industry incubation.
In addition, the Institute of Advanced Technology of the University of Science and Technology of China signed contracts with six companies including AI developer iFlytek and one electronic technology institute regarding the development of technology, industrial cooperation, and joint training of graduate students.
Bao Xinhe, president of the University of Science and Technology of China, said the university will continue to enhance the innovative capabilities of the institutes and help build the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center into a demonstration area for scientific and technological innovation in the Yangtze River Delta region and nationwide.
Ling Yun, mayor of Hefei, said that as a national pilot innovation city, the city has made breakthroughs in the R&D and industrialization of cutting-edge technologies such as AI. She also suggested cooperating more closely with the two institutes.
