Anhui Yunta Electronic Technology Co, in collaboration with the School of Microelectronics at the University of Science and Technology of China, recently released a self-developed 5G millimeter-wave filter.

This is the first time a Chinese manufacturer has successfully developed a miniaturized filter product for the 5G millimeter-wave frequency band, and the technology  it uses is an essential part of wireless communications.

Measuring just 2.5 x 2 mm, the filter works at 33GHz and has a bandwidth of up to 2GHz, an in-band insertion loss of less than 2.7dB, and an out-of-band rejection of more than 30dB.

The 5G frequency band is divided into two main categories: sub-6GHz and millimeter wave (mmWave). The sub-6GHz frequency band is the main focus of development at this stage. Yunta officially released its sub-6GHz (n77, n78 N79) frequency band filter products in November 2019.

The millimeter wave band, with its ultra-high transmission rate, ultra-large capacity, and extremely small delay, will become the focus in the next stage of 5G development.

In addition to being widely used in various 5G terminals and base stations, Yunta's miniaturized millimeter wave filter products also provide a cost-effective filtering solution for next-generation 6G low-orbit broadband satellite Internet such as China Aerospace Science and Technology Group's "Hongyan Constellation" and China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation's "Hongyun Project". The launch of Yunta's new product signals that top domestic technology developers have officially entered this field.

Anhui Yunta Electronic Technology Co, located in the Hefei National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, is one of the few start-up companies in China that focuses on RF filters and RF modules. Over the past three years, it has developed dozens of filter products, launching them one after another.

The company has technical reserves in the fields of SPD, LTCC, SAW and BAW, and is the only company in China capable of developing, producing and supplying all types of filters.
