The Hefei National High-tech Industrial Development Zone plans to invest 28.50 million yuan ($4.05 million) on 17 urban landscaping projects this spring.
The projects are scheduled to be mostly completed by early May, and will result in around 200,000 square meters of green space in the zone.
The zone's construction investment company, which is responsible for carrying out the projects, said the projects are expected to improve the city's living environment and natural ecology.
The company completed construction on 14 roads in the zone, including the Wanshui, Chang'an, and Tiantangzhai roads, by the end of last year, and plans to plant 2,300 trees alongside the roads.
High-quality construction and landscaping is being prioritized, said a spokesperson of the construction company, who added that the company has been carefully selecting a variety of plants to create landscapes for every season.
As of April 7, work on all 17 projects had started and 40 percent of all work had been completed.
