Hefei Victoria Sky Express, an internet of things (IoT)-enabled logistics company, signed a cooperation agreement with the Hefei National High-tech Industrial Development Zone on March 26, agreeing to build its headquarters in the zone.
The company has been operating in Hefei for nine years and has developed the largest road freight networks in China using advanced information technology.
During the signing ceremony, both parties expressed confidence in the future of the headquarters, saying that it will serve as a model for how to foster a new economy by developing an internet plus logistics platform.
Wang Tiejun, president of the company, said the company is among the first to be approved by the Ministry of Transport to run a truck broker business and it will strive to expand from Hefei into other areas in central China.
Wang also said it was the city's attractive innovation environment and the high-quality services provided by the zone that reinforced the company's determination to grow its business there.
Wang Wensong, vice mayor of Hefei, said the headquarters is one of the most innovative applications of internet technology in the city.
As the COVID-19 epidemic wanes in China, Hefei has been actively working to attract investment. For the first time since the outbreak began, attendees of the signing ceremony did not wear masks and shook hands with each other, signaling a return to normality.
