Hefei tech zone accelerates key construction projects

The Hefei National High-tech Industrial Development Zone in East China's Anhui province has sped up work on key construction projects, according to local authorities.
The government held a commencement ceremony on March 28 to mark the start of 36 key construction projects costing 23.8 billion yuan ($3.35 billion).
Local authorities said that all the projects were related to things such as new economy, integrated circuits, biomedicine, and advanced manufacturing. Some of them received investment from the country's leading enterprises, including cloud service provider ChinaC and digital map provider NavInfo Company, all of which are expected to contribute to the development of the zone.
Wang Wensong, vice mayor of Hefei, said that Hefei enjoys unique advantages in terms of scientific research, human resources, transport networks, and associated industries and it has seen rapid social and economic development in recent years. The city government plans to continue improving its business environment and hopes to turn the city into a hotspot for innovation, investment, and entrepreneurship.
The Hefei tech zone is expected to become a world-class high-tech park and attracted more than 420 projects with a total investment of nearly 70 billion yuan in 2019. This year, it plans to further promote its investment environment and accelerate work on all construction projects.
