Hefei-developed COVID-19 test kits were recently certified by the European Union, meaning they are qualified to be used by EU member states.

The two approved test kits -- an antibody fast detection kits and a nucleic acid test kit -- were jointly developed by Anhui Anke Biotechnology (Group) Co Ltd and its Wuxi subsidiary AGCU ScienTech Incorporation along with the Hefei Megagene Center.

As confirmed cases soar, test kits for COVID-19 are in high demand across the word. The new products are expected to epidemic prevention and control efforts in virus-hit areas.

According to the developers, the antibody fast detection kits are easy to use and will help meet the quick-testing demands of community health service centers and small and medium-sized hospitals.

The nucleic acid test kits use advanced detection technology which makes the results more reliable.
