A group of media insiders from overseas Chinese media agencies recently toured East China's Anhui province and learned about its developments. 

China Speech Valley, a scientific and technological hub sitting at the National High-tech Industry Development Zone in Hefei, the provincial capital, welcomed the group on Dec 10. 

The over 1,000-square-meter exhibition center is an integrated embodiment of how the city has been ascending to the peak of artificial intelligence (AI), especially in the fields of smart city, mobile health, intelligent terminals, and internet plus. 

The media delegation was impressed by the innovative climate that has permeated every inch of the valley, and also the eye-catching achievements in scientific research, such as smart pianos which can automatically correct mistakes and give marks, and virtual reality glasses able to offer immersive learning conditions to students. 

They marveled at an intelligent writing robot, which reflects the valley's ambition to create a robotics industrial chain, with basic semantic comprehension serving as its backup, and human-computer interaction and intelligent housing systems as ultimate goals. 

The tour around Anhui province was hosted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and organized by its Anhui branch. The activity was attended by some 30 media agencies from 13 countries and regions.
