High-tech zone inks 8.8b-yuan IC deals

The 2018 Global IoT Innovation Summit, held in Hefei, Anhui province on Nov 28, has added more fuel to the local integrated circuit (IC) industry.
Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, the organizer, inked deals with more than 30 leading IC enterprises from home and abroad, totaling an investment value of 8.8 billion yuan ($1,268.3 million).
The cooperation will help to give the zone a voice in international arenas and thus settle more cutting-edge and profitable projects in the zone.
Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone has realized remarkable progress in the IC industry in recent years.
With the regional IC industry moving forward with great momentum and capability along the road of strategic development, independent innovation, and industrial upgrading, the zone also boasts an enabling climate with IC-related companies having forged a complete industry chain.
The roughly 150 IC companies and branches rooted in the zone not only accounted for 87 percent of the city's total and 10 percent of the national total, but also integrate research and development, design, manufacturing, packaging and testing, and practical application.
