The G60 Science and Technology Innovation Valley which engages nine cities in the Yangtze River Delta is showcasing eye-catching momentum.

Rising as a growth engine for the delta's technical and economic development, the valley creates an ever-inspiring atmosphere for local enterprises, while it also raises their concern for more convenient and streamlined civic affairs solutions.

Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, under the umbrella of one of the nine cities of Hefei, was among the first group to provide answers to these appeals.

Local businessman Chi Tianshui was lucky to benefit from the zone's eagerness.

Planning to run a new company in Hangzhou, Hefei's neighboring city and also one of the nine cities that have joined the G60 valley, Chi was once troubled by having to pay several visits before eventually handling the new branch's business affairs.

The inauguration of the G60 valley and the concerted efforts made by the nine cities recently ensured Chi's receiving of his new business license.

"Unimaginably how I had all my affairs cleared without paying a visit to Hangzhou," Chi said.

His story represents the supporting environment at Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, making it more appealing to enterprises.

Initiated in 2016 by Shanghai's Songjiang district, the G60 valley now includes the nine cities of Shanghai, Jiaxing, Hangzhou, Jinhua, Suzhou, Huzhou, Xuancheng, Wuhu and Hefei.

Altogether, it covers a total population of 49 million people and a space of 76,200 square kilometers, accounting for one quarter of the Delta region.

The valley takes full advantage of each place and leverages the power of scientific innovation to drive economic growth. It is named after the highway connecting Shanghai with Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan province, and is benchmarking the likes of Route 128 in Boston, dubbed as "America's Technology Highway", which opened the tech age with its proximity to university labs such as that of MIT's.
