Hefei welcomes returnee entrepreneurs
Hefei always has its arms open to talent.
This was most recently seen at a meeting that kicked off at the local international talent city on Nov 9, attracting government officials and roughly 100 entrepreneurs who have finished their studies in countries such as the UK, the US, Canada, and Germany.
In addition to signing agreements to introduce talents, the meeting also attracted a new group of companies looking to set up shop in the city.
Four roadshows presented by these returned professionals were carried out on the sidelines of the event. One focused on how a distributed internet of things can be aided by a blockchain, a digital information database that can be shared and used over a public network and has been widely acknowledged as being instrumental to the future of the internet.
The past two years have seen Hefei acting more and more as a talent hub. The city is skilled at introducing professionals, but it is even better at retaining them and bringing out their full potential.
The emerging maker spaces, incubators, and accelerators are also a reflection of the city's "talent fever".
