An integrated circuit (IC) industrial park located at the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone entered first-phase construction on Nov 8.

Standing at the crossroads of Changning Avenue and Boyanwan Road, the park will cover an area of 16.5 hectares, with a total building space of about 400,000 square meters.

It is designed with top-tier criteria, aiming to bring in IC chip, sensor and internet of things industries for further research and development, design, package and testing, and practical application.

The first phase work mainly focuses on standardized plants used for package and testing, which will cover a floor area of 5.1 hectares, a construction area of 78,000 square meters, and is set to complete by December 2019.

Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone boasts an enabling climate with IC-related companies having forged a complete industry chain.

The 122 IC companies and branches rooted at the zone accounts for 89 percent of the city's total, consisting of world renowned brands like MediaTek, Photronics, ARM, and Phison, as well as domestic well-knowns as Datang Telecommunications, Ingenic Semiconductors, and Allwinner Technology.
