An ion medical center located at the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone is ongoing smooth construction and is scheduled to complete next March, local media reported on Oct 23.
Thanks to the rigorous and efficient work of the constructing team, the center, once taken shape, will be the first of its kind in China to employ sophisticated proton equipment and to follow an independent research and development scheme for noninvasive treatment in human malignant carcinoma.
The center will offer curative therapies to over 2,000 patients annually, while also extending solid support to China's health industry amid the technological monopoly of Europe, the United States and Japan.
The complex is located at the intersection of Yanzihe Road and Changning Avenue, with four storeys above ground and one underground, covering a floor area of 46,000 square meters and a total construction area of 33,000 sq m.
