A group of media insiders from overseas Chinese news agencies learnt about Hefei's breakthroughs at the local National High-tech Industry Development Zone on Oct 22.
The experience hall exhibiting various cutting-edge products developed by iFlytek Co, a local-based company with expertise in voice technologies, raised great interest among the visitors.
They were especially amazed at a real-time voice transliteration system, which can be applied at conferences for accurately converting spoken mandarin Chinese into texts, at an accuracy rate of 95 percent.
The technology made its debut in 2017, for simultaneously transliterating the texts of Premier Li Keqiang's Government Work Report during the two sessions – the annual meetings of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee.
The delegation was impressed by the orderliness of a two-kilometer-long assembly line of new energy vehicles at JAC Motors, a Hefei-based automobile group with full-line independent brands which ranks among the top 10 automakers in China.
