Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical Co laid a cornerstone at the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone on Sept 28, launching the construction of a biomedical project. 

The project, covering floor space of 16 hectares, is an investment of 2 billion yuan ($290.2 million). Its 150,000-square-meter building complex will feature a research area, a pilot plant, a manufacturing department, a quality testing center, a logistics hub and a training area. 

Song Daojun, an official from the high-tech zone, said the project, an integration of vaccine research, manufacturing and marketing, will set a positive tone on regional biopharmaceutical development once it is put into practical use. He also promised an enabling environment that will benefit the project's development. 

The high-tech zone, featuring an easy and inviting culture, has always stood on the top-tier among national competitors. It has fertilized a variety of start-up and innovative companies, making it a successful integration of competence and attractiveness.
