Founded in 1956, No.7 Middle School of Hefei is an exemplary school in Anhui province. It moved from Baohe district to Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone in September 2014, close to the Institute of Advanced Technology, University of Science and Technology of China and CAS (Hefei) Institute of Technology Innovation Co.

The school covers an area of over 17 hectares, equipped with comprehensive buildings, teaching buildings, laboratory buildings, apartments, dining halls, a library, a stadium and a playground. Total investment reached 900 million yuan ($131.02 million). It currently has a faculty of more than 300 teaching and administrative staff, over 80 of whom have obtained or are working on a master's degree.
