Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone's (WEDZ) automotive market is experiencing a significant surge in sales, with a remarkable 64 percent month-on-month increase.
This strong performance can be largely attributed to authorities implementing a series of measures, including launching the Wuhan Auto Consumption Season and introducing policies to stimulate consumption.
Since the launch of the consumption season in September, participating dealers have recorded 6,283 orders, a 74 percent increase year over year.
During the consumption season event on Sept 3, car consumption vouchers for the public totaling 100 million yuan ($13.79 million) were quickly distributed to various outlets, commercial areas, venues, exhibitions, and communities.
Over 400,000 physical consumption vouchers have been distributed to date. Dealers and consumers have reported that the vouchers are useful and convenient, and they are encouraging their friends to use them as well, a local official noted.
In October, WEDZ initiated an integrated automobile and tourism event that attracted over 100,000 participants and garnered over 200 high-intent customer orders in just two days. A tour featuring auto exhibitions and sales activities across 11 districts in the city was also launched on the event's opening day.
WEDZ also organized automotive marketing promotion events to propel brands such as Voyah, Dongfeng Honda, and Lotus NYO to expand beyond Hubei and reach a national audience.
A local official emphasized the authorities' commitment to demand-driven supply, with a dual focus on policies and activities to stimulate consumption and ensure smooth production and consumption cycles.
