1. Basic Introduction

The Intelligent Connected and Electric Vehicle Industrial Park, previously known as the Automobile and Auto Parts Industrial Park, was founded in May 2015.

The park occupies an area of 100.8 square kilometers in the southwest section of Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) and is a major engine driving the zone's industrial economy.

The park is home to 770 enterprises. Among them, 460 are industrial manufacturers (including 169 above a designated size), 148 are high-tech companies, and 21 are foreign-invested firms. In addition, the park also boasts four national specialized and new companies, and one listed company. By the end of 2021, the park generated a total of 50 billion yuan ($6.95 billion) in revenue and output.

2. Development Orientation

The park is a major part of WEDZ's modern industrial system, and mainly focuses on automobiles, smart manufacturing, new energy, new materials, and modern services. Well-known enterprises in these areas include Lotus, Changli New Material, and Guangzhou Mitsuba Electric.

3. Development Prospects

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the park will make full use of its location near the Junshan Campus of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, give full play to the advantages enjoyed by advanced enterprises such as Lotus, Xpeng and CALB, and form an advanced intelligent connected vehicle industrial ecosystem.
