On June 2, 2022, the administrative office for the Modern Sci-Tech Agriculture Industrial Park in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) was established.

The park has a planned construction area of 157 square kilometers and includes three sub-districts, four State-owned farms, and 35 villages.

So far, 12 enterprises above a designated size have set up operations in the park. In 2021, it reported 3.48 billion yuan ($484.76 million) in fixed asset investment, 4.5 billion yuan in industrial output above a designated size, and 4.68 billion yuan of total investment project turnover. More than 20 renowned agriculture enterprises, such as China Grains And Oils Group Co, CP Group Co and Dabeinong Group Co, have moved into the park, injecting about 50 billion yuan in investment into regional rural vitalization projects.

The park enjoys convenient transportation with rivers, lakes, and roads crossing through it. People can reach the park directly by taking Wuhan's Metro Lines 3, 6 or 16.

With 6,333.33 hectares of farmland and 3,000 hectares of water for aquiculture, the park has successfully cultivated Hannan Sweet Corn, Xique Lake Crabs, and Qingcao Lake Soft-shell Turtles. The park also boasts the nation's largest and most advanced smart greenhouse, as well as the biggest new-type agriculture mechanical work area in Hubei province.

Over the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the park is expected to gather more high-end research institutions in the seed industry and leading agriculture companies, accelerate its digital transformation and innovation-driven revolution, and focus on the planting of pollution-free vegetables, fruit and flowers, as well as agricultural product processing and rural tourism.
