The Hubei Elite Engineering Practice Base was inaugurated on July 1 in the Dongfeng Technology Center based in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WEDZ).
Being among the first group of engineering practice bases in Central China's Hubei province, the base will focus on the new energy and intelligent connected vehicle field and accumulate, train, and select several outstanding engineers to empower Hubei's and also Wuhan's industrial upgrading and talent structure optimization.
Yang Yanding, deputy director of Dongfeng Technology Center, said that the base would be constructed following the "1+N" principle and fully use Dongfeng's software and hardware resources. The base is estimated to create over 100 research work positions, cultivate over 300 outstanding excellent engineers, and produce more than 100 sci-tech results.

Liu Ziqing, secretary of the zone's working committee, said that WEDZ would work with Dongfeng to build an engineering team that solves complicated engineering problems.
