Robots have been deployed to deliver meals at Wuhan Jingkai Foreign Language School, making the school the first in Wuhan city to offer this kind of service, according to local media reports. The school is in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, the capital city of Central China's Hubei province.
The meal delivery service is currently only available for Grade 7 students.
Students are required to sit in the cafeteria, where they can browse menu items on iPads. Students can choose from three meal combos offered by the canteen.
After ordering, a food delivery robot distributes meals to each table, with the three meal options organized on a three-layer shelving grid.
According to school officials, food delivery robots help cultivate students' honesty and trustworthiness and support epidemic prevention and control.
The school will become the first school in the province to boast 5G network coverage, which will assist in teaching and learning scenarios.
