A school for the computer chip industry was officially set up at Hubei University of Technology in Wuhan, capital city of Central China’s Hubei province on Jan 4, marking the first educational facility for the integrated circuit sector in the province, according to a report in the Changjiang Daily.
Officials said more than 190 students have been enrolled into the school.
A total of 30 million yuan ($4.32 million) were invested to develop the Chip Design and Technology Experiment Center.
The school is currently the leading undergraduate training base for computer chip industry-related majors among Chinese universities.
