The high-speed rail that connects the central Chinese megacity of Wuhan with South China's Guangzhou has transported over 500 million passengers since it was launched 10 years ago.
Over 500,000 train services have been provided on the railway over the past decade, with the shortest departure interval being only five minutes, the railway authority in Guangzhou said.
Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, has rich labor resources. Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong province, is known as the "world's factory" due to its robust manufacturing sector.
The high-speed rail has drawn the 15 cities along the route closer.
