Wuhan Sports Center was selected as one of the Wuhan Industry Landmarks recently, according to the official WeChat account of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone.
Wuhan Sports Center, located in the WHDZ, was the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 7th CISM World Military Games, held in Wuhan city in October.
It is also the venue for top international and domestic events such as FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the FIBA Basketball World Cup, Badminton Asia Championships and the China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Festival.
According to statistics, driven by high-end events, the output value of the “sports + tourism” section of the WHDZ in 2018 exceeded 10 billion yuan ($1.41 billion).
In 2017, Wuhan Sports Center won the title of National Sports Industry Demonstration Unit.
