An electricity management system powered by artificial intelligence (AI) technology has started operating in Wuhan, capital of Central China’s Hubei province, local officials said on Sept 3.
The system has been implemented at 35 venues and 98 hotels for the 7th Military World Games, which will begin on Oct 18. The technology is able to monitor the power supply at all locations, recognize issues, and allocate resources efficiently.
At the Wuhan Sports Center, for example, remote high definition cameras and patrol robots have been installed at the transformer substation. There are a total of 1,513 monitoring locations, monitoring grid application equipment and the surrounding environment.
Officials said that 3D models formed by cloud data will combine with footage of the substation to help technical workers acquire key information in a timely manner.
According to authorities, there are 144 substations, 608 transmission lines, more than 24,000 workers, and over 1,200 vehicles involved in maintaining the electricity supply during the Military World Games.
The system will play an essential role in allocating personnel, materials, and information efficiently.
