Explore Guizhou's snowy winter landscapes and cultural celebrations

Winter in Southwest China's Guizhou province blends charm and allure, offering rich experiences with hot springs, skiing, sunny leisure, traditional festivals, and delicious food and drink.

In recent years, Guizhou has relied on airports across the province to develop connections to major cities like Wuhan, Xi'an, and Ningbo. Flights over the mountainous terrain not only allow tourists to enjoy breathtaking views from the window but also facilitate efficient connections between major scenic spots.

With 303 hot spring tourism locations, Guizhou is one of China's richest hot spring resources. Several hot spring health centers, towns, and cities have emerged in recent years, complemented by hot spring hotels and water parks.

With its low latitude and the convergence of warm and cold air currents, Guizhou has the conditions to build natural outdoor ski resorts and develop ice and snow tourism. The province currently has eight ice and snow venues.

Winter in Guizhou is a sea of festivals. Recently, the lively Dong New Year celebrations were held in various places in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture. Dong New Year celebration activities include throwing pig feet, making glutinous rice cakes, grand sacrificial ceremonies, singing Dong songs, and thousand-person banquets.

Anshun has launched winter activities such as the Tunpu cultural parade, Dixi opera performances, and a mask art festival. Visitors can explore Tunpu, enjoy local meals, and participate in traditional dances.

Anshun has also created restaurant maps, hosted culinary competitions, and established a street in Anshun Ancient City dedicated to intangible cultural heritage foods and snacks.
