Antai College of Economics & Management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University recently released the 2024 index of preferred winter tourism destinations for elderly people in China, its sixth release since 2019.
According to the index, Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, and Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture in Southwest China's Guizhou province ranked 19th, 30th, and 34th, respectively,
The index uses 17 indicators, such as temperature, air pressure, air quality, water quality, medical conditions, transportation convenience, regional landscape, cost of living, social environment for elderly care, and average life expectancy. It evaluated 55 candidate cities in Hainan, Guangdong, Fujian, Guangxi, Yunnan, and Guizhou, and calculated a winter elderly care suitability index for each city.
