Guizhou accelerates construction of modern industrial system

In 2023, Guizhou achieved strong results in constructing a modern industrial system and planned industrial bases for six major industrial sectors, resulting in an industrial output value of more than 800 billion yuan ($111.53 billion).

Nationally-important resource-intensive processing base

Guizhou defined the development model for resource-intensive processing industries, guided the key parks involved in precision use of minerals to improve their risk control, and attracted several resource-processing projects.

Research and production base for new energy power batteries and materials

Guizhou optimized the industrial layout of the entire province and saw an increase of 17 billion yuan in the output value of the new energy battery material industry.

National computing power guarantee base

Guizhou sped up the development of servers, integrated circuits, smart terminals, and other key products. The value added of the big data electronic information industry in the province grew by about 7 percent year-on-year.

Nationally-important baijiu production base

Guizhou made efforts to protect its Maotai-flavored baijiu production areas. Last year, the added value of its liquor industry increased by 10 percent year-on-year.

New type of comprehensive energy base

Guizhou adjusted the structure of the coal industry, with coal production reaching 153 million metric tons.

Nationally-important industrial backup base

Guizhou planned and built the Guizhou Aviation Industry City and strengthened cooperation with central-government-owned enterprises. The added value of the equipment manufacturing industry increased by 8 percent year-on-year.
