This year, Guizhou province has been making efforts to optimize employment policies, stabilize market entities, and strengthen service supply, achieving high-quality and full employment, according to a news conference held by the provincial government on Nov 13.
From January to October this year, the province created 589,400 new urban jobs, helped 138,000 unemployed individuals re-enter the workforce, and provided employment opportunities for 69,500 individuals struggling to find jobs.
To promote employment, the province has established a public service platform for migrant workers across provinces and opened special service lines for rural laborers working outside their home provinces.
It has also built a comprehensive employment service network covering cities and counties in Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu provinces. As of the end of October, the number of rural laborers working outside the province remained at around 6 million.
A series of activities have been carried out to promote employment and entrepreneurship among college and university graduates. By the end of October this year, there were 105,900 graduates from Guizhou who had not found employment after leaving school, 74,000 of which have received help in finding jobs.
Efforts have also been made to implement entrepreneurship policies and facilitate job creation and entrepreneurship opportunities for various types of laborers.
As of the end of September, Guizhou had granted entrepreneurship guarantee loans worth 3.28 billion yuan ($449.92 million) and supported 17,700 entrepreneurs.
