Honduran media outlets witness China's progress in Guizhou

A delegation of 14 journalists from prominent media outlets in Honduras visited Southwest China's Guizhou province from April 30 to May 3.

This visit marks the first time that a delegation from Honduras has visited China since the two countries established diplomatic relations in March.

During the four-day trip, the delegation visited several landmarks in Guizhou, including Pingtang Bridge, the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), and the Zunyi Conference Site. As they explored the province, the journalists were struck by the significant changes that have taken place in Guizhou over the past few decades.

"Guizhou was once one of the least developed provinces in China, but the construction of roads and bridges and the revitalization of rural areas have brought about tremendous change," said Carlos Javier Estrada, director of the National Radio of Honduras, "We were amazed by the prosperity we saw as soon as we arrived in Guizhou."

The journalists also praised China's efforts to reduce poverty and improve economic development, saying that they hope to learn from China's example and apply it in Honduras.

"Before this visit, we only knew about China through the internet and other channels, but this trip to Guizhou showed us that China is different from what we thought," said Marvin Ortiz, a journalist at TV Global Honduras. "Both the government and people in Honduras are eager to change the current situation, such as eliminating poverty and reducing crime. China can be a model for us to follow."

After returning to Honduras, the members of the delegation pledged to use their reporting to promote better living conditions and economic development in their home country. They also expressed their desire to share their experiences in China with more people and eliminate cultural barriers between the two countries.
