The new book Keywords to Understand China: Colorful Guizhou was recently published in six languages – in an initiative to reportedly promote an understanding and raise the profile of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The work was published by the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, the Guizhou government, the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies, the China Academy of Translation and the New Star Press.
The book is being published in English, French, Russian, Spanish, Arabic and Japanese. It's understood that it aims to interpret and convey China's ideas, policies, development approaches and solutions in a way that is understandable to overseas readers.
The book collects 49 iconic and representative keywords and has five chapters covering achievements, expectations, the economy, culture and tourism. It showcases Guizhou's achievements since 2012 and its development goals for 2021-25.
The series Keywords to Understand China are main publicity books and material for national high-level visits and major foreign affairs activities.
The translated volumes are widely quoted by official organizations for their standard expressions, such as the "community of common destiny for all mankind" and the "Belt and Road".
