Since the beginning of this year, Southwest China's Guizhou province has received 3.89 billion yuan ($603.8 million) in central government budgetary investment to build 346 public service projects involving education, health, senior and child-care services, tourism, social assistance, and sports.
Among the 346 projects, 206 have received 1.6 billion yuan in investment and are related to public kindergartens, compulsory education schools, toilet renovation, the construction of primary and middle schools, the improvement of universities, high-quality medical and normal universities, and the integration of vocational education with industry.
Guizhou has spent 384 million yuan to build 51 projects related to public service systems for the elderly, inclusive elderly service provided by both government and enterprises, and child-care services.
Guizhou has also supported the construction of eight projects involving intangible cultural heritage and infrastructure construction at scenic sports, with a total investment of 216 million yuan.
In addition, the province has spent 113 million yuan to support nine projects of social welfare facilities, service facilities for veterans, and rehabilitation facilities for the disabled.
It has also spent 92 million yuan to support 19 projects such as sports parks, fitness centers, footpaths, and public soccer fields.
