The first vegetable seeds and seedlings exhibition in Southwest China's Guizhou province was held in the capital city of Guiyang on Sept 8-10, with more than 100 representatives from the province's nine cities and prefectures attending.
The event aimed to showcase renowned, special, new and top-flight vegetable varieties and to enable breeding centers to display their improved vegetable varieties and latest technologies for crop planting.
The exhibition center for new vegetable varieties is located in Guiyang's Kaiyang county and started operations in March. It has breeding labs and green houses to produce more than 43 million vegetable seedlings per year.
The breeding center for improved vegetable varieties is located in Guiyang's Wudang district and showcases 1,052 varieties.
