Guizhou's Xiushan-Yinjiang Expressway opens to traffic

The 52.9-kilometer-long Xiushan-Yinjiang Expressway in Southwest China's Guizhou province officially opened to traffic on Aug 15, benefiting 150,000 people living in neighboring areas.

The expressway cost 7.4 billion yuan ($1.14 billion) to build and has 38 bridges, eight tunnels, and four toll stations. It starts from Shiliang township in Songtao Miao autonomous county and connects with the Hangzhou-Ruili Expressway.

With the opening of the expressway, local agricultural products such as tea, oranges, grapefruits, and traditional Chinese medicine can be transported across the country.

The expressway is also expected to attract more tourists to Fanjing Mountain, which is located at the border of Yinjiang, Jiangkou, and Songtao counties.
