13th Guizhou Tea Industry Expo commences in Zunyi

The 13th Guizhou Tea Industry Expo was held at the main venue in Meitan county, Zunyi, Southwest China's Guizhou province, and eight sub-venues on April 18.

The expo focused on promoting tea brands, tea production and marketing to showcase Guizhou's achievements in developing its tea industry.

The evaluation results of Guizhou's top 10 most beautiful tea mountains, best tea and tourism integration bases, best tea enterprises, high-potential tea enterprises, best tea dealers and outstanding tea makers were announced during the expo's opening ceremony.

A total of 62 tea investment projects were also signed at the opening ceremony, with a total investment of 6.46 billion yuan ($992.66 million).

In recent years, Guizhou has established a special work team to attract investment in the tea industry. Since 2014, Guizhou has attracted 831 tea industry projects with 68.62 billion yuan of funds in place.

After the opening ceremony, guests visited Meitan's tea gardens, tea-processing enterprises, tea and tourism bases and tea markets. All the cities, prefectures and counties also invited the guests to revisit the tea production areas later.

More than 600 tea enterprises join the expo's tea exhibition and sell activity, which is ongoing in Meitan on April 17-20. The activity presents famous tea brands, tea packages, tea sets and tea products.
