According to Guizhou's provincial government work report, which was released at the opening ceremony of the Guizhou Provincial People's Congress's annual session on Jan 25, the province aims to achieve an 8 percent year-on-year increase in GDP in 2021.
The goal is to increase the added value of agriculture by 6 percent year-on-year, while industries above a designated size should achieve a year-on-year growth of 8.5 percent. The service industry is also expected to reach 8.5 percent growth.
Guizhou's fixed-asset investment will increase by 6 percent year-on-year, total retail sales of consumer goods will increase by 8 percent year-on-year, and per capita disposable income will increase by 8 percent year-on-year for urban residents and 9 percent year-on-year for rural residents.
In 2021, more than 600,000 people will find new employment in urban areas, the green economy will occupy 45 percent of GDP, and the digital economy will account for 32 percent of GDP.
Guizhou aims for high-quality development, which means the manufacturing industry's added value will account for roughly 20 percent of GDP. Private investment in fixed-asset investment will be 45 percent, R&D cost will be 1 percent of GDP, and emerging industries will account for 12 percent of total industrial output value.
The urbanization of the permanent population will reach 52 percent in 2021. The province will also reduce the ratio of per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents to under 3.08. The working-age population's average education years will reach 9.1 years, and the average life expectancy will reach 74.8 years old.
