Guizhou's business environment sees continuous improvement

Southwest China's Guizhou province has attracted more and more central government-owned enterprises to invest in recent years due to its efficient government services and high-quality resources.

The province has established a special work team to improve the business situation to build a robust business environment.

In 2017, Guizhou entrusted Xiamen University's Research Institute for Doing Business in China to evaluate its business environment. The evaluation result showed that Guizhou's business environment ranked 94th among 190 economic entities in the world.

In 2018, Guizhou launched an action plan targeting practices that damaged the business environment; it dealt with 43 cases of damaging business actions. The same year, Guizhou's business environment was elevated to the 79th position.

In 2019, Guizhou launched an operational plan to improve the business environment, including 45 measures to improve business efficiency. That year's evaluation showed that Guizhou's business environment ranked 58th among the world's 190 economic entities.

Since the beginning of this year, Guizhou has taken more measures to optimize the business environment and opened a hotline to handle complaints involving investment. The province hopes to rank among the top 45 global economic entities for the business environment.
