Guizhou sees income increase for urban and rural residents

During the first three quarters of this year, urban and rural residents' income maintained steady growth in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

According to statistics, Guizhou's per capita disposable income of residents was 15,652 yuan ($2,385.09), a year-on-year nominal increase of 6.8 percent.

The per capita disposable income of urban residents was 26,959 yuan, while rural residents' disposable income was 7,826 yuan, with year-on-year nominal increases of 4.8 percent and 8.1 percent, respectively.

Among Guizhou's 88 cities, districts, special regions and counties, the per capita disposable income of urban residents from five districts exceeded 30,000 yuan, 59 counties were between 25,000 to 30,000 yuan, and 24 counties were between 22,000 to 25,000 yuan.

The per capita disposable income of rural residents from four districts exceeded 15,000 yuan, 19 counties were between 10,000 to 15,000 yuan, and 41 counties were between 7,000 to 10,000 yuan. Wangmo county had the lowest per capita disposable income at 5,282 yuan.

The income ratio of urban and rural residents was 3.44 during the first three quarters, 0.11 lower than the same period last year.

Guizhou has focused on ensuring basic needs, guaranteeing compulsory education, healthcare and housing for the poor, improving drinking water safety, increasing employment among rural residents, and alleviating poverty to help increase urban and rural residents' income.
