The 13th PhotoChina Original International Photography Exhibition launched on Sept 27 in Zhenyuan county, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture in Southwest China's Guizhou province. It will last until Oct 7.
The event has three parts – the domestic exhibition, international exhibition and Guizhou exhibition, which include over 2,500 photographic works, five video works and 50 short videos. These artistic pieces showcase natural scenes from around the world, China's poverty alleviation stories and the spirit of China's anti-epidemic fight.
Academic activities, local cultural events and live promotional activities for agricultural products will also be staged during the event. Exhibition booths featuring products from Guizhou's 12 featured agricultural industries will promote Guizhou's quality farm crops and help alleviate poverty.
The exhibition was first held in 2008 and is world's only activity that focuses on the inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage and promotes the development of original ecological culture theories through photos and videos.
This year's photo exhibition is the first time that more than 500 photos have been used to showcase Guizhou in a comprehensive way, covering poverty alleviation and profiling the province's stunning mountain scenery. Over 200 internationally renowned photographers are participating in the event, which also features super-large photos made by traditional slat printing.
