In Renhuai city's Maoba town in Guizhou province, a rice paddy has become a giant canvas for artwork showing the joy of the harvest.
Designed scientifically by agricultural experts, the paddy is expected to bring in more than 300,000 yuan ($42,753) per hectare. Residents raise fish and ducks simultaneously alongside rice in the paddy — about 67 hectares — to achieve an ecological balance. The town is also developing rural tourism to increase the incomes of villagers. The unusual artwork helps promote the project.
