The Thai Garden at the Wenzhou Garden Expo Park will offer residents and visitors an immersive glimpse into Thailand's natural beauty and cultural traditions, and will serve as a new platform for China-Thailand exchange.
The garden, designed to reflect Thailand's distinctive architecture and landscapes, incorporates tropical planting, lotus-inspired forms, curved Thai-style roofs and elephant motifs. Built into the park's natural hillside, the design blends Southeast Asian aesthetics with Wenzhou's natural terrain, creating a tranquil environment that highlights both cultural identity and ecological harmony.
The project received support from overseas Chinese entrepreneur Qi Xiaoyun, president of the Thai–Zhejiang Trade Association, who hopes the garden will serve as a platform for deeper cooperation in trade, culture and tourism. Chinese and Thai designers worked together to ensure the garden retains its authentic Thai character while meeting China's construction and safety standards.
Covering more than 500 square meters, the garden features a variety of tropical and subtropical plants, which were selected for their adaptability to Wenzhou's climate, with an emphasis on sustainable, low-maintenance operation.
The Thai Garden is expected to host cultural activities, exhibitions and business exchanges, further strengthening Wenzhou's long-standing ties with Thailand.
