Schneider Electric's Wuhan factory, located in Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC), has been awarded the title of a "Global Talent Lighthouse" by the World Economic Forum (WEF). This recognition makes it the first Schneider Electric factory worldwide to receive this honor and one of only three factories globally to be selected.

The "Talent" designation, as a category of the Global Lighthouse Network, highlights enterprises that have implemented advanced solutions in key areas such as work planning and safety, and talent recruitment, development, and utilization effectiveness. These factories are recognized for their transformative influence on workforce development.

The Wuhan factory is a critical node in Schneider Electric's global supply chain and a strategic base for its industrial digital transformation. Over the past five years, the plant has increased its automation level by 55 percent and expanded its product portfolio by 239 percent.

However, rapid technological advancements have highlighted a growing gap in critical talent, limiting further improvements in productivity and innovation.

To address these challenges, Schneider Electric has developed a comprehensive talent development system. By leveraging AI and other advanced tools, the company aims to integrate employee growth with value creation.

Zhang Kaipeng, head of Global Supply Chain China at Schneider Electric, stated that in the face of new transformations and the wave of digital intelligence, the company remains committed to a core strategy of technological innovation, people-centric approaches, and collaborative ecosystem, which has enabled the construction of a resilient, efficient, and green modern supply chain system.
