OVC hosts low-altitude economy development forum
The Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC) held a forum on Jan 27 focused on the development of the low-altitude economy, during which participants discussed key issues such as expanding application scenarios, enhancing infrastructure, and advancing technological innovation.
The forum brought together stakeholders from across the low-altitude economic industry chain, including application-oriented companies such as China Three Gorges Corporation, JD Logistics, and Meituan; drone manufacturers such as E-HAWK and GDU; and the recently established Low-Altitude Economy Institute of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Participants emphasized the importance of seizing opportunities by diversifying application scenarios, maintaining open and flexible airspace, and fostering a cost-effective industrial ecosystem. They recommended that OVC further expand its application scenarios and establish a comprehensive airspace management system to support enterprises throughout their development cycles.
Shen Yue, secretary of the Party Work Committee of the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone, said OVC will focus on meeting enterprises' needs by enhancing scenario applications, attracting projects, and integrating technological and industrial innovation to create a superior business environment that supports enterprises in scaling up.
OVC also recently introduced the "Implementation Plan for Supporting High-Quality Development of the All-Space Intelligent Transportation Equipment Industry," and established a low-altitude economy industrial park. The growth momentum of key enterprises is strong now, with the low-altitude economic industry in the zone accounting for 60 percent of Wuhan's total.
