Wuhan University launches R&D base for advanced payload, satellite in OVC
The Wuhan University Advanced Payload and Satellite Research and Development (R&D) Base was recently unveiled at the Wuhan Quantum Technology Industrial Park in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

This base integrates research, manufacturing, and testing and is equipped with advanced experimental equipment and R&D platforms. It brings together a team of highly skilled researchers and is dedicated to establishing an innovative technology platform for satellites and advanced payloads, as well as facilitating the transformation of more scientific and technological achievements from universities into new quality productive forces.
Li Deren, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor from Wuhan University, attended the unveiling ceremony. He noted that Wuhan University holds a unique position and has unique advantages in the field of aerospace technology. He said this new base will further enhance the university's research and innovation capabilities, contributing significantly to the development of the aerospace industry in Hubei province and throughout China.

An official stated that they will continue to support the construction and ancillary services of the base, using Wuhan University's talent and technological advantages and integrating resources from various sectors to build the base into a world-class innovative R&D platform for advanced remote sensing satellites and payloads.
For over 20 years, Wuhan University and OVC have closely collaborated and achieved remarkable results. Together, they have established innovative platforms such as the Wuhan University Science Park, Wuhan Institute of Biotechnology, and Hubei Luojia Laboratory and incubated hundreds of leading and innovative tech enterprises, which have formed a distinctive industrial cluster.
