The 2024 Wuhan Investment Promotion Conference took place on Dec 26 in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province. Guo Yuanqiang, Party secretary of Wuhan city, and Wuhan Mayor Sheng Yuechun attended the event.

The event fostered cooperation and development discussions and welcomed nearly 120 participants, including representatives from Fortune Global 500 companies, major multinational corporations, technology innovation enterprises, and business associations.

A total of 150 key projects were signed on-site, with a cumulative investment of 228 billion yuan ($31.24 billion) across various sectors, such as optoelectronic information, healthcare and bio-pharmaceuticals, new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, high-end equipment and intelligent manufacturing, and commerce and logistics.

Guo emphasized that multiple development strategies in Wuhan unleash the city's advantages in science and education, transportation, ecological resources, and industrial foundations. He welcomed investments for business growth and innovation and encouraged businesses to seize development opportunities in the city.

Sheng pledged Wuhan's commitment to creating a top-notch business environment and fully supporting enterprises. He invited entrepreneurs to collaborate with Wuhan to build a nationally influential technology innovation center, drive industrial transformation, and construct a livable, resilient, and smart city.

Representatives from domestic and international enterprises delivered speeches, while the Wuhan municipal bureau of science and technology innovation and municipal bureau of economy and informatization presented Wuhan’s science and technology resources and industrial development and application scenarios.
