Optics Valley Aviation Super Logistics Center unveiled and operational
The Optics Valley Aviation Super Logistics Center (also known as "Optics Valley Cargo Station") located in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) was officially unveiled and put into operation on Aug 7, after being formally accepted on Aug 2.
An inaugural shipment of 7.3 metric tons of cross-border e-commerce goods departed through the Optics Valley Cargo Station and the Ezhou Huahu International Airport, heading to Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the Philippines and Kuwait International Airport.

This facility stands as Hubei province's sole aviation pre-positioned cargo station and the nation's first networked shuttle-type aviation pre-positioned cargo station. It is expected to accelerate the construction of the Huahu International Free Trade Airport and drive the high-quality development of the Wuhan metropolitan circle.
Located within the Wuhan East Lake Free Trade Zone and spanning an area of approximately 4,500 square meters, the Optics Valley Cargo Station project is a pilot project for ground shuttle security and the protection of air cargo. It was constructed by Wuhan East Lake Free Trade Zone Construction Investment Co and is operated by Hubei Airport Group.

This project broke out of the traditional international airport logistics model by shifting airport port services to the bonded zone, offering services such as air cargo handling, storage, pre-positioned security checks, and palletizing at the airport cargo station. Pre-positioned aviation security checks have already been implemented at both Ezhou Huahu International Airport and Wuhan Tianhe International Airport.
The launch of the center establishes an "air free trade corridor", enabling export enterprises in the OVC to efficiently handle the entire air freight import and export process at their doorstep, significantly reducing transit time and operational costs.
The Optics Valley Cargo Station is estimated to handle an annual import and export volume of 40,000 tons, with a value exceeding $400 million.
