On April 9, the 2024 JFS Conference and Compound Semiconductor Industry Expo officially opened in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC).
Nine domestic and foreign academicians, over 300 industry insiders, and representatives from over 800 companies gathered at the event, with nearly 10,000 attendees present at its themed exhibition and conference.
This event was considered as the largest and most prestigious benchmark conference on compound semiconductors in China.
During the exhibition, lasting from April 9 to 11, more than 180 guests will share industry reports on current hot topics and related trends.

At the themed forum, Wu Ling, the chairman of the China Advanced Semiconductor Industry Innovation Alliance (CASA), presented the 2023 advanced semiconductor industry development report, pointing out that last year, with the gradual recovery of the semiconductor industry and the vigorous development of the electric vehicles and new energy sectors, significant progress has been made in China's third-generation semiconductor technology.
In the three years since its establishment, the JFS Laboratory has established an advanced compound semiconductor research and pilot platform in OVC.

The exhibition area covers over 10,000 square meters and showcases the latest products and technologies from more than 200 companies. As an important partner of the JFS Laboratory, SPTS, a UK-based supplier of etching and deposition process solutions and equipment, showcased its cutting-edge products and process solutions as they relate to compound semiconductors.
Twelve project agreements were signed at the themed forum, with a total value of 17.9 billion yuan ($2.52 billion). These projects cover multiple aspects, such as chip design, manufacturing, testing, and applications, which will help the valley to form a complete compound semiconductor industrial chain.
