A job fair for graduating Wuhan college students was held at the Optics Valley Gymnasium of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) on March 5.
A total of 371 companies, including many based in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as the Optics Valley of China, or OVC), participated in the recruitment fair and offered more than 7,000 job positions.
Many OVC enterprises are in urgent need of talents after the Spring Festival. “We have received requests from two semiconductor manufacturers, each with over 100 job vacancies. Most of these positions are for technicians and middle and senior managers, and the majority of job seekers are about 25 years old, including those returning from overseas and those who grew up in Wuhan,” said a human resource staff member of CIIC Hubei Economic & Technical Cooperation Co.
Between March and April, the company will organize job fairs at many Wuhan-based universities, promoting over 1,000 positions, and so far 30 other enterprises have signed up for these events.
