Overview
Optics Valley Chinese Sci-tech City is a thriving science and technology park, approved by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council in March 2011, which local authorities say is going from strength to strength.
It was constructed in the south part of the East Lake High-tech Development Zone, located in Wuhan in China's central Hubei province – also known as the Optics Valley of China – that covers an area of 217.66 square kilometers, surrounded by rivers and mountains.
It focuses on developing five industries: cultural and technological integration services, the ecotourism services industry, general aviation services, international business services and innovation power services.
The park has convenient transportation and rich natural resources including a nearby 4A level scenic spot and 17 cultural relics and sites.
At the same time, the park enjoys various preferential policies of the state, province, city and zone in supporting scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship of returning Chinese.
Officials say it provides incentives and comprehensive policy support for companies to come and settle there.
The park has one public services center, five theme parks -- Asian, European, American, Australian and Singaporean, and African -- and one special innovation area for Hong Kong, Guangdong province and Taiwan.
