Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying gave a like and retweeted a short video introducing the "Optics Valley Photon" sky rail on April 29, which is currently at its test run in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC).
The post received thousands of likes and hundreds of comments. One of these netizens commented that the air railway is very useful to "short cut" from one point to another instead of driving the entire distance in a traffic jam. Other overseas netizens complimented the sky rail as amazing, wonderful, and extraordinary.
The short video also lured Wuhan people working and living outside the city to come back and experience the sky rail in OVC.
During the May Day holiday, numerous visitors flocked to watch the advanced sky rail. Everyone was impressed by its high efficiency and elegant appearance.
The first-phase construction of the OVC sky rail involves the building of six stations. The sky rail is a supporting facility of the Optics Valley Ecological Corridor, and its first phase starts at Jiufeng Mountain, and stops at Yuquan Mountain, connecting many scenic spots in the valley, offering tourists a better transport choice during their trips. Meanwhile, passengers can also transfer to the Metro Line 11 and the streetcar L2 in the valley.
