Global optoelectronic information engineer contest launched

The first global optoelectronic information engineer competition was launched in Central China's Hubei province on Nov 15.
The competition, organized by the Hubei Manufacturing Engineer Association and held by the Wuhan Optics Valley Talent Group Co, will select excellent optoelectronic information engineers, especially those working on IC, optical communication, lasers, advanced displays, and smart terminals and with strong scientific literacy and innovative capabilities.
The competition is divided into three different contests and spans three months. The finals will be held in January 2023 in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC).
Winners of the competition will receive bonuses of up to 100,000 yuan ($14,110), and will be able to enter the final oral defense part of the corresponding provincial talent programs directly.
More importantly, the winners will be granted additional rewards ranging from 200,000 to 10 million yuan if they agree to work in OVC and are included in its talent schemes, such as the 3551 Talent Program and the Industrial Professor Program.
